The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa have met severely and competed in football tournaments.

They have competed in tournaments like The teams such as Africa Cup of Nations, Africa Cup of Nations, Qualification, African Nations Championship, WC Qualification, CAF.
Both teams have tried to show superiority over the other, playing to be known as a bigger team and this can be seen in their previous meetings.
From the year 2004 the Nigerian football team and the team of South Africa have competed in 9 games among which there were 5 winning matches for Nigeria, 3 played in draw and South Africa winning just one of these matches.

The Bafana Bafana of South Africa has it’s home ground to be the FNB Stadium, which is located in Johannesburg. The South African football team has it’s greatest result to be the winning the Africa Cup of Nations at home in 1996.
The South African boys missed the last edition of the AFCON in Cameroon two years ago, but are glad to be making an appearance in Ivory Coast for AFCON 2024 making it their 11th AFCON appearance since their debut in 1996.
Before the 2024 AFCON, South Africa played a total of 10 games. They managed to win four, five was drawn while they lost just one match.

The 2021 AFCON started on 9 January 2022. The Super Eagles of Nigeria was the only team in the tournament to win all three group stage matches after defeating Egypt 1–0, Sudan 3–1, and Guinea-Bissau 2–0. Nigeria however, lost 1–0 in the round of 16 to Tunisia on 23 January.
